Dates: 17.04.19 - 30.06.19. Address: MAXXI, Via Guido Reni 4/A, 00196 Rome, Italy.
Born in Italy's central region of Molise, Paulo Di Paolo moved to Rome at an early age and soon became one of the greatest reportage photographers who documented the country as it emerged from World War II for the now-defunct Il Mondo weekly magazine and for personal projects. Di Paolo captured black-and-white portraits of key personalities in the country's art, culture, fashion and movie sectors. Late last year, in collaboration with Italian fashion house Gucci, the MAXXI, the Museum of the Arts for the 21st Century Art in Rome published his book entitled 'Paolo Di Paolo. Mondo Perduto'. Now the museum has created an exhibition of Di Paolo's best pieces of work that truly portray a delicate, rigorous and wise recount of an Italy emerging from the ashes of the Second World War. The 'Paolo Di Paolo. Mondo Perduto' (Lost World) exhibition In Rome takes place from the 17th April 2019 to the 30th June 2019. See the official link above for more information.
